This was renovated a few years ago and now serves food. On the positive side, it is consistently good and the menu is varied, although relatively expensive, and of the 'something with a something dressed in something drizzled with something garnished with something' variety - randomly substitute chorizo, coriander, chilli jam and creme fraiche for the somethings. Pizza is generally to be avoided though, very bread-y and feels like it has been spread with basic Dolmio sauce.

Unfortunately you need earplugs and a booming voice to be able to converse with anyone at your dinner table. I don't know what acoustical problem plagues the restaurant area, but every time I've been it has been incredibly noisy, and this just makes people shout louder. Unless you can sit outside, it is just going to annoy you, and a real shame or else it would score higher.

One of M&B's Premier Country Dining Group and therefore pretty much like all the others. Staff seemed friendly and helpful, and the food was really good, though my sister had been there a week of two before and the service was slow, this time it fine.

Gastropub rather than pub, but all the PCDG places I've been to (7 so far) have a reasonably-sized drinking area (usually about 1/4 to 1/3 of the place) where you *can* eat, but the tables aren't laid up) and a larger restaurant area.

And bar stools at the bar.

Not really a pub any more by my estimations, but a noisy gastro emporium. St Austell Tribute was off on Monday but the Tongham TEA was very good. Food was pretty good for those interested in such matters, but could do with more soft furnishings to deaden the noise of clanking cutlery and crying babies...

Have been popping in here when in the area for many years and was pleased to feel welcome in the new surroundings. The beer was good, and the staff attentive and friendly. The pub was warm and comfortable and stylish. Will be going back to try the food but as it was, a great place for a quiet drink away from the town centre

This pub is one of a smallish chain and we had one as our local where we used to live. Very pleased to see there is one here in Woking. Although, that does mean that we're used to the menu, which doesn't change very often. This is a shame, as it means you aren't as keen to visit regularly as there isn't much variety. We visited recently and it was a nice experience, prompt service, lovely decor and good wine.
