Now re-reopened after a huge refurbishment, just one real ale on offer - courage best. Worth a vist, got three hand pumps avaiable, when more real ale drinkers pop and sample the decent best on offer other real ales will go on to keep up with demand. A large pub with a pool table, dart board, food avaiable and large screen tv's.

The current landlord is leaving next Sunday. Should be reopening within a week or so under a relief manager.

Should breathe a breath of freshair into the place!

Went in here the other afternoon. No real ale on. Very much a "you get what you see" type of place. Bare floorboards, pool table at one end, sport on TV the other and a dartboard somewhere in between.
The staff were friendly and the fresh roll was tasty.
Definately felt a locals pub. Also although there were around 20 people in the place only 2 were female and one of those was behind the bar.

Although I'm not a regular here, yes ... I'd agree that if you're looking for a bit of culture and up-market 'action' this pub probably wouldn't be your first choice! But, having said that, there's always a handshake from the landlord, a really pleasant family garden area for the warmer days and banter from the 'three-eyed locals' throughout the year. If that's not your bag, there's plenty of other pubs where you can take an uninterrupted view of all four walls of the bar I'd suggest.
