A great pub indeed, properly on of the best in the area of Woking. The real ales are well kept, recently enjoyed bishops finger, blacksheep, hogs back tea, piddle, doom bar to name a few. Shall be returning shortly! Well worth calling in neil19 - 13 Jan 2012 23:22
Had a stonking good laugh in The Crown last night. Bolted about 6 pints (on a school night !) of the Black Sheep which, by pint no. 4, one could tell was on it's way. I was one of several customers who eventually saw it off for it to only to be replaced by a tub of Piddle (4.1%) fresh out of Dorset. This outlet seems to be heading in the right direction since the grand re-opening back in February last year. Though not especially busy last night, I have witnessed it much busier in recent months as I have passed by with the dog. Perhaps the regulars had been tipped off that I was approaching on foot without the dog ! It is currently promoting an up-coming Valentines night extravaganza and urges early bookings. Have a perusal of The Crowns web-site where I'm sure there must be greater detail. ** If The ladhimself reads this - I'd be happy to buy him a pint of Piddle should he ever find himself in leafy Surrey ** FuzzyDuck - 13 Jan 2012 13:24
Visited The Crown today at lunchtime with a group of new mums. Ignore all reviews written before Feb 2011 as the new landlords took over then. Lovely decor,we were made to feel really welcome by the landlady. Had coffee and a homemade Victoria sponge, delicious. The owners are definately looking for a new client base. The menu looked inviting and I felt it would be a pleasant place to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat in the day or evening with friends or as a couple. Great new daytime meeting place for new mum's in Knaphill without feeling the intimidation you feel in some pubs as a woman. Would happily turn up alone and wait for friends to join me. Give it a go you will be pleasantly suprised. JoWoking - 26 Apr 2011 22:08
Wow, called in and what a change. Very nice interior, friendly owner who knows what hospitality is all about. Great food. A nice place to enjoy a pint, a coffee or a meal in comfort. No sky, no loud music, ideal for business meetings with WIFI available free. Not a DH in sight. Got to be 10/10 at the moment. gregdaniels - 22 Feb 2011 12:24
A good starting point for a pub crawl in the Knaphill area. Quiet early on in the evening but it soon gets busier. Directors pint was not the best, the range of beers is quite good overall and there are also band nights here. Noticed a dartboard as well but did not play a game. aleman - 28 Feb 2009 17:05
