| Under new management and now with a French chef producing excellent home made food along good pub menu lines. Good beer including Bombardier and Doombay plus a reasonable wine list at sensible prices to compliment the equally well priced good food made this a lovely pub to visit on a sunny lunchtime. The home made beef curry was the best I've tasted in a long time and my friend's food was equally good. The pub has an enormous garden at the rear including an 18 hole putting green and is child and dog friendly. Although off the main road it is worth the visit. | Nice location. The staff as well as locals very welcoming and smiley. Classic pub decor but very clean. What let's this pub down is the food. It's not 'fine dining', expect a warmed pie/pots/veg place. What you get is definately acceptable though, and good for vegitarians. Service could be improved, we were left thirsty/unattended and waiter seemed frantic which didn't help to relax. Would return for a beer if passing. mh66639 - 11 Mar 2007 20:36 |
