| Went in the other week when on a pub crawl of Lincoln. There were no Cathedral beers on but beers from Isle Of Purbeck, Milestone and Atomic amongst others made up for this. Good downstairs bar with 12 handles and upstairs restaurant with 4. zipdiskdude - 18 Jul 2011 23:22 |
| Ancient building overlooking the river and now realising its potential, with 12 beers on handpump- the best range of beers in Lincoln. Had a Tom Wood's which was very good. it's one small room really, flagged floors and a low beamed ceiling. Despite this, something felt missing character-wise- perhaps the quiz machine that really shouldn't be in a room such as this, or the over-bright lighting. That said, it was empty on my visit, which didn't help, and I'd be quite prepared to visit again and imagine I'll change my mind. All in all definitely worth a visit, hopefully put my finger on it next time. Carlurmston - 4 Jul 2010 18:06 |
| 12 hand pumps and 3 from the wood in the cellar. I wish we'd gone there earlier and not just before we had to leave for the train. All beers we tried were top notch including the beer from their own micro brewery next door - Cathedral. The downstairs bar had a stone floor and barrel tables with stools and a few tables and chairs. The upstairs was full and loud with Xmas revellers so we avoided it, but it looked promising with views out over the water. Definately a re-match needed in the new year. chick - 25 Dec 2009 10:37 |
| This place is almost two pubs in one. Upstairs is a large wooden floored, low beamed room mainly set up with lounge chairs and dining tables. There are 4 handpumps on here serving Milestone & Cathedral (the onsite brewery) beers. It’s a nice enough place so we decided to eat here. I had lamb rump and the other half had a sirloin steak. Both were well cooked but the quality of the meat was very poor. Change your butcher guys, not impressed at all. Downstairs is the Waterside bar. Flag floors, low beams, barrels to sit around and a really cosy atmosphere. 12 handpumps on the bar here, 2 from Milestone, 2 from Cathedral and 8 ever changing guests. I had several pints here over 2 days and all were excellent. They have a wheel of fortune game during happy hour where you spin the wheel to find out the price you’re going to pay. Good fun. It’s a great little bar. So we have a great downstairs bar that’s at least an 8 and an upstairs lounge that sells overpriced poor quality food that should be a 5. I think I’ll stick with a 7 overall. | I forgot to say that the guy who served us was very helpful and made us feel welcome being as though we weren't regulars. Mothbag - 19 May 2009 15:18 |
