user reviews of the Green Dragon, Lincoln

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Fantastic addition to Lincoln's ale scene: 12 ales on in total, 4 Milestone, 4 Cathedral (eventually) and 4 guests. All fine (esp. The Loxley) on my visit.

Nice place, very old, big emphasis on food but with 12 great-tasting ales who's complaining?

I went here with my family on a Sunday evening to try an get something different to the usual carvery. On arrival we were greeted by 12 different real ales, I tried 3 of them of which all were absolutley divine!!! We were then ushered to our table on the top floor, and presented with an excellent menu. Not too much choice, but just enough to make you ponder, the steak was cooked to perfection. If you do actually fanct a carvery, that looked good too priced at a tenner a head (all you can eat!!)
In summary, the food was great, the wine was great and the beer was wonderful and also reasonably priced (2 courses for 4 & wine) totalled around 80 quid.

Recently expensively refurbished and re-opened, I spent a couple of hours there on a weekday afternoon - great feel with friendly staff, very good beer and the food menu looks terrific. Real Ale bar downstairs - by the waterside - expansive main bar with comfortable chairs and sofas and a properly old world feel (the building is 16th century) and an upstairs restaurant. I'll be returning regularly.
