| The downstairs is 3/4 restaurant although the floor staff don't seem to have a problem with you just drinking on some of edge tables if it's not busy on the food front. Screens upstairs but can be hit and miss as to getting served up there so if you're in for sport be prepared to be going up and down the stairs. Food's lovely but as has been said, it's more or a restaurant anyway. random_ranger - 23 May 2008 16:39 |
| My boyfriend and I hit The Grove regularly for dinner and are never dissapointed by the menu, service or food. I am a particularly big fan of their tiramisu! While the meals can be a bit pricier, of all the pubs in the Hammersmith/ Shepherds Bush area this is by far my favourite in terms of consistently high quality food and serivce. | The service is good, the beer is fine. But it's not at all what I'd call a pub. It's a restaurant which borders on being a gastro-pub, at best. If you're into pubs, then definitely steer well clear. In my book, no matter how good the drink is, nothing can make up for not being in a proper pub, and The Grove most certainly isn't one of those. If you're after food and a more restaurant-esque experience, though, you'll probably be happy here. C.B - 11 Sep 2007 22:07 |
| More 'gastro' than pub... rpadam - 16 Feb 2007 14:32 |
| The Grove has been one of my "locals" for over 10 years and I have seen it develop from a spit and sawdust establishment into a friendly, well run business. The food exceptionally good value for the price and the staff is welcoming and helpful RichieF - 1 Feb 2007 08:57 |
