What a difference a manager makes! this pub was a dark dingy place over run with flies, a new manager started a couple of weeks ago, so we thought we'd give it another go. It now has light no flies and very happy staff! this will now become my local with well kept ales and at low prices. well done to new manager on you improvement so far. yiddet82 - 3 Sep 2011 13:58
First time in here and I liked it. This place has a laid back atmosphere for a Saturday and some good music! stu7698 - 19 Apr 2011 20:13
Typical Greene King dross! Crap pub, bored staff, expensive microwave food. Why do all Greene King pubs want to be Wetherspoons? Shame could be a nice pub, has huge potential, but then again it's a Greene King pub, so any potential it has will be quashed. For an extra 2 mins walk you can go to Bedford Place for proper pubs like The Pensioners, The Red Lion and Th Alex. RyanSoton - 24 Aug 2010 20:16
Mediocre but inoffensive Greene King pub in the city centre. Aleheads get ready, your choice is....Greene King IPA and....err.....Greene King IPA 'Chilled'. My pint of Becks was drinkable and it was filled mainly with students at lunchtime. Food menu reasonable and inexpensive, but I would sooner go down the road to Spoons for the better/cheaper selection of ales. ChrisP87 - 8 Jan 2009 15:01
