| I have just returned from the Bull (25/10/09) and can't fault it. Seemed to me the landlady was perfectly sober and no-one out of our group of twenty-five diners had any complaints at all about the food. Recommended. motorcyclist - 25 Oct 2009 21:01 |
| I have also been for Sunday Lunch in the last few weeks. The portions were just right. The Landlady & Landlord, I found to be lovely & very welcoming. It was a busy lunch but my family & I didn't have to wait to long, which is great if you have kid's to keep happy. I have also been during the week and found the same happy welcome. sandqueen - 18 Aug 2009 19:30 |
| I have recently had the pleasure of visiting the Bacton Bull and having read the reviews posted previously I felt the need to add my own to try and balance what seems to be a tad biased opinion!! Tony and Pam are working tirelessly to try and keep the pub going in very challenging times. The outside has been painted in the last few days and looks fab! Meanwhile they are making changes to the interior in particular the dining area to try and pull in hungry punters! I had the pleasure of eating Sunday lunch this weekend and the food was spot on! More than enough that dessert was deemed unnecessary and the service was prompt and polite. Conversation in the bar is enjoyable and can even get lively!! As for the personal comments towards Pam all i would say is opinionated-yes. Likes a drink-again yes. A nasty drunk?? Meeeooow!!!! I have been to the T&H twice in the last year and yes its a nice pub but not having eaten there I cant comment on the food. Go and try the Bull! I have and I will be doing again. | The Bull is dreadfull since it has been taken over by Pam and Tony. The food is disgusting: Hand cut chips means oil drenched chips and battered cod is oil soaked cod. To make matters worse the landlady is always drunk, very opinionated and quite nasty. Many of the regulars refuse to go, which is good news for the Trowel and Hammer, the nearest pub where food is great and landladies are friendly. Victoria6 - 17 Jun 2009 10:05 |
| A friend and I have just returned from the worst experience that either of us have experienced while eating out over 40 years. The Bacton Bull staff were rude, we were 'hassled' to order quickly and hurried to our table. The portions were child size. When we raised the matter with the landlord all we got was a wooden 'sorry'. We adjourned to the nearby Trowel and Hammer for a second drink, dessert, coffee and a welcome smile. Local readers have a choice and I suggest that they chose the Trowel and Hammer for a roper welcome and a relaxing evening. JennyC2 - 13 Apr 2008 00:03 |
