If you like 60s school canteens you will just love this place but if you like a country pub you will hate it. Completely spoilt by small tables which are low and sticky, food is ok but very pricey for a canteen. Beer is ok if you like bitter from the tap at 3.60 other than that there is no choice, nice garden overlooking a fence and hedge, seems to attract yuppy sorts strange as this is a village pub.

Pretentious, mais non. This is just a pub restaurant that seems to get the basics right. Simple, uncluttered and clean dining room. Attentive staff, friendly but not over-familiar, who look smart and clean in their black uniform. A menu that is not overcrowded, but has enough variety to allow for a reasonably priced and cheerful lunch or a more expensive celebration.

The Fountain is NOT a pub - it is a place "where friends meet and eat".
The food and service are excellent. The staff are friendly and it has a welcoming atmosphere.
The House wine is excellent and reasonably priced and there is a good selection of beers and cider. My favourite place to eat.

Not a bad place however don't go if you are feeling hungry! Disapointing small portions of over hyped and over priced food! Nether the less nice feel about the place if a little pretentious. Drinks over priced too

Pretentious restaurant masquerading as a pub. Warm Adnams bitter available direct from the barrel.
