Working at Salford Quays thought I would pop in for a pint when going back to my digs, had my favourite pint of Abbott's and was bitterly disapointed beer tasted yeasty and not at all like Abbots staf were resistant about giving me an slternative pint, shame cause overall not a bad pub

Was recently in Manchester on business and thought I would pop in to see how the pub was without the football rabble.

Tuesday is steak night as in most JDW, I was running somewhat late and they were more than happy to accomodate my request for a Rib eye steak at 9.30pm. I chose the option of a pint of pedigree which was served in top form.

Overall on this occassion the food was top class, the beer top class and atmosphere was more than welcoming with a very mixed and friendly crowd of regulars.

It suprising how different the pub was with no match on, but the standards were first rate!

What a place this is! I go to Old Trafford to watch united on a regular basis but in all honesty I go now for the pub and not the game!

Before the game there is a great mixed crowd enjoying a great sing song led by the legend of the terraces Pete Boyle, then after the match a bizarre little Chinese chap gets up and starts dancing, the funniest thing ever.

Staff are really friendly and some of the managers are a bit wacky one in particular who sings Boyzone songs?!?!?!? Beer is always top draw, prices do go up on match day but in all honesty I would happily pay to come in!

keep up the good work team, a trully unique venue!

This JDW pub is classed as a live sport pub, but apart from major events the pub is generally fairly quiet and the TV screens unobtrusive. The staff are very friendly & helpful and the beer kept well. In addition to the standard Abbot, Pedigree & GK IPA they serve an interesting range of 2 or 3 guest beers. Unless you're into football avoid Man Utd home match days as all the furniture is removed, the kitchen closes, bar prices rocket and the chanting will deafen you.
