| Ember Inns establishment with a typically anodyne interior. Nevertheless on a Saturday evening, tables were scarce and this is quite a large pub. Prices are very reasonable and the real ale range is good - Taylor Golden Best, fff Alton's Pale Ale, Purity Ubu, M & B Brew XI, Greene King Abbot Ale & William Worthingtons White Shield IPA. | Given its inauspicious location in the middle of a large modern housing estate, The Fieldhouse is actually a pretty decent local pub. Part of the Ember Inns chain, they usually have at least 5 real ales on and the food is reasonable pub grub (if not gastro standard). Quiz every Tuesday and Sunday night. Watch out - this place gets absolutely packed if you don't get there early on quiz night, and bar service can be slow at times, but the staff are very friendly. dw198 - 11 Dec 2009 22:48 |
