| Interesting reviews on this pub, i went to this pub after reading the reviews for a pint and meal during lunch. The food was excellent - (fish and chips), the fish had a nice batter. However i found that the service of bar staff was poor, they were slow, unable to take orders correctly, and left they were short staffed even though i saw 4 staff members about. | Hi, I absolutely adore this pub!! I have been going there for many years and recently went there on a daily basis after i finished work, just up the road from the Woodmans Rest. I have never recieved anything but a kind, warm and respectful reception from everyone working there, from bar staff to the manager(s) over the years and would consequently promote and encourage others to try the services the pub provides and see for yourself. Its a very quiet pub until around 12-2pm (lunch hours for most workers) and then later after 16:30 (end of day) but that is great in my opinion because it gives you the best of both worlds, a relaxed atmosphere at times and a more lively atmos later in the day. Can't complain about that. I finish by reiterating something i have already mentioned. I highly recommend this pub to anyone of any age as the Woodmans Rest, as i am sure you will discover will accomodate you and make you feel very welcome!!
