There are no pubs I know with a wider choice of beer and until recently no reasons to criticise the Cask. However, I had a disappointing evening at this pub recently for two reasons. Firstly, it clearly stated on the menu that the kitchen was open until 10pm but when a friend went to order us some food at 9.45 they said they were not taking any more orders. Then something similar happened at the end of the evening. They rang the bell and I went straight to the bar to get two more drinks only to be told that that was it. I always thought that the bell was rung to signify last orders. Admittedly not being able to get a last drink is a small gripe but one of the reasons I chose this pub on this occasion was so I could have a meal there too and having had a couple of pints I was in the need of food.

The sheer variety of beer means I will go back to this pub again but overall it has gone down slightly in estimation.

It's not got a pool table , beers are excellent, food is good, evenings do get busy on Thursday and Friday with the after work crowd, but any decent pub in the area is the same. Constantly changing offerings on the pumps, nothing is ever run of the mill, so expect to pay a bit more.

Correct pub ID is 41995. This entry (1756) relates to the old Pimlico Tram which should have been marked up as a closed venue two years ago. In respect of TMJ's posting; pub ID 38871 was removed for "cleansing" following a spate of tit-for-tat reviews and up-and-down ratings which thankfully have ceased. However the "stub" remains hence the confusion. It would be helpful if both 1756 and 38871 were marked up as closed, or redirect users to the correct page. The photo issue has been "sorted" or soon will be.

Why have two different entries, one for Cask, one for Cask Pub & Kitchen, both with the wrong photo?

The correct photo is hidden by BITE here without ability to post comments.

Good range of beers and attentive bar staff, but I am concerned that they are taking liberties with some of their prices. An American bottled beer I had there was double the price that it cost me in another bar recently. Paying a bit more for a quality product is fine, but there should be a limit.
