The only pub in Summertown - a screamingly posh area where it is unfathomable that there isn't a Magdalen Arms style gastropub. This was slightly better than expected even if the four beers on tap were generally an uninspiring selection. A perfectly acceptable place to down a couple of jars but a bit tepid in atmosphere.

See my previous review just below? Scratch that, this pub has been brought back to life.

My girlfriend and I visited during an evening this week and found the Dew Drop to be an excellent establishment. The outdoor area at the front now has much more seating, plus there is a nice garden area at the back of the pub. The interior now looks much better than it did a couple of months ago, much brighter and cleaner with new furniture and decoration.

There was a wide range of drinks on offer, I made my way through three different pints of craft beer, all of which were excellent. They were a little more pricey than an average pint which was fine by me because they were considerably better than an average pint. If all you're seeking is a cheap drink, you know where to find a Wetherspoon pub.

We only fancied a snack so we shared three of the starters which were all delicious (the brisket cubes in particular were great). The staff were all friendly and we were served promptly each time, even when there was a bit of a queue.

This is now a great pub, we shall be back again very soon!

Currently an absolutely terrible place. Glasses and plates are left on the sticky tables for long periods of time, the toilets don't appear to have been cleaned in months and it looks like the pub is currently run by a pack of moody 18-20somethings who really don't care. Avoid this place until is has been given a good clean and brought back to life.

One of the older buildings on Summertown high street, sandwiched between modern, glass-façade shops, The Dew Drop Inn is a two-barred beast; and if you enter to the left, you can see the trappings of a small, characterful Oxford boozer. Make a trip to the bar on the right, which is much larger, however, and you may as well be in a student common room; something which may well be to do with the preponderance of language schools dotted along the Banbury Road. That said, of the limited ale range, the Old Hooky was well-kept and reasonably-priced (£3.45) and the service attentive, although for something more ‘Oxford’ you’re always better off marching across to Woodstock Road and seeking out the delights of North Parade and Jericho.

Go often. Bar Staff and Landlady very friendly. Beers and wine good selection. Food OK. Landlord is a prick. Get a personality sunshine and get that chip off your shoulder.
