As previous reviewers have stated its wonderful to be able to enjoy traditional jazz and blues in such a relaxed and friendly pub, only minor gripe they could try a little harder with the selection of draughts beers/cider - pretty ubiquitous/bland selection, i mean who drinks Caffrey's these days !

It's very refreshing to see a bar that specializes in live Blues and Jazz.
It seems really easy to find a place to see an Indie band or an Acoustic showcase but there's only a handful of places in London for Blues fanatics like me.
Its a tiny place so it's usually pretty rammed (been there a few times now) but this place isn't your usual pub with the musicians squirreled away in the corner playing in the background. Instead, the band is on full view, under spotlights playing through a pretty significant sound system.
The drinks all seem to be well prepared and the bar staff are super friendly.
Is a place like this able to compete with the likes of Ronnie Scotts or the new Charlotte St Blues?
No but...in my opinion, it just about tops the list of small, intimate music venues in London where you'll get a good pint of ale, sit in clean and cosy surroundings and watch live music of a very hi standard

Another good music venue that serves real ale very friendly and welcoming.

Ive been here a few times in the past 6 months and love the place. Yes it's tiny and there isn't much of a food choice (despite what the person said several reviews down, I've always eating well there).
What you do get though is to be in one of the most intimate music venues in London. On top of that they always seem to have a really great band playing and the atmosphere has been absolutely electric everytime I've gone.
Btw what they may lack in beer selections, they make up for in cocktails- try the long island iced tea... Nearly blew my head off!

I used to really like the agricultural. I like blues, too but its shame it had to be this pub which closed for it. I can think of plenty of other rubbish pubs in Angel that I would have liked to see close instead of this one.
