This building has a small theatre upstairs, and it is the signs for this that one sees when approaching. Inside, the pub is part-way through a refurbishment programme and is quite spacious and has very high ceilings. Three real ales on handpump - Doom Bar, Old Hooky and Summer Lightning (£3.30, but served far too warm on a hot summer day). Inside and outside pool tables (the latter in a large patio beer garden).

After not visiting The Landor for some years, I was amazed at the transformation upon visiting last week. The place seems much lighter and more welcoming, to the point where my friend and I decided to stay & give their food a go, and this was the real treat; I went for a steak pie washed down with a few pints of well served Doom Bar. All in a sunny beer garden......brilliant.

I visited this pub on Saturday evening having not been in since last August. To my mind it's gone slightly downhill in that time, though I was pleased that they had three different ales (Doom Bar, Norton's Bitter, and Hop Back's Summer Lightning) rather than just Greene King.

Well the Bitter was just gorgeous (well-kept ale is like hens' teeth in Clapham). Summer Lightning was far too warm, though (imagine drinking from a bottle left in a car boot on a hot day). I also found the pub to be really dark and dingy (even though it was 6pm), and the table at which I sat was very sticky. It was mostly solitary old men when I arrived at 6 but became slightly more cosmopolitan over the next hour.

I feel this pub could be a real gem, if only they would turn up the lights, give it a lick of paint and clean the place more thoroughly.

The Landor ticks a box as it hasn;t slid into looking like every other pub in the bourgeois hinterlands. It looks scary from the outside but reassuring on the inside, which is always a smart move in South London if you ask me.

Nothing outstanding as such, but the beer (Tribute) was well kept. Worth a drop in if you're passing by or even if you're not.
