Agree with whats already been said. Used to be a great pub serving great food (The Troc burger was phenomenal). Shame to see its gone down hill.

Used to be quite a buzzing indie/rock sort of drinking hole trendily stashed away up a back street. Now it`s a poor imitation of a Wetherspoons, cheap, beers and £2.99 food specials, expect it does a good trade of a day when the office wallers need a quick bite and a beer. Found it wearily depressing on the night though, few punters, piped R&B drone and finding the toilets was easy - just follow your nose! Sort of pub that needs a kick up the arse or the shuters will go up!

On last visit, 2 groups of blokes were having a somewhat "heated debate". Making a hasty exit before it boiled over seemed to be the sensible thing to do. Beer is ok if you are brave enough to enter.

It's a shame that this pub has died a bit of a death over the years. Used to be very vibrant, with arguably the best jukebox in the city centre (before the days of digital jukeboxes having every song ever), but now falls into the non-descript mediocrity of many other pubs in its proximity.

My last visit here was for the Germany-Argentina game in the World Cup. Two real ales were on (Landlord and Bombardier), and both were well-kept and served cold. Not a lot else on offer by way of unique drinks, though the food is always of a slightly-above average standard.

The toilets have gone up in recent years, with two lockable cubicles, and a clean floor, with working taps and hand dryers and everything!

Overall, nothing special, but nothing bad.
