I really like this pub since the renovation! The colour from black is now red and looks very modern now. The staff is friendly and the drinks are the cheapest i've seen in Edinburgh centre.

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW. The Steamie has been taken over by new management. We have hired a brand new chef, have a totally revamped manu and have completely updated the interior. Please look on our facebook page to see for yourself. Furthermore, come in for a meal any time this month (June) and mention "Beer in the Evening" and we'll take 20% from your total food bill. Hopefully we can change the sadly underwhelming image this pub previously upheld!

I love this pub! i used to drink in here a few years ago and moved away have now moved back and am glad to see this pub is still around and its improved since last time. it had a face lift inside (which it need) and looks great so fresh and bright and the food oh my god the food, they do the best homemade burgers i have ever tasted and so good on price. the quiz night on tuesdays is so funny some time i dont even play just sitting and laugh at the questions, and the music on a thursday is really really good much better than you normal pub band.

The best pub of the Southside. None of the nearby places come close to it, now that it's been done up. Changed hands sometime last year and refurbed recently. Management/staff are so much friendlier (although wouldn't be difficult to be an improvement on previous lot!) Watched Scotland France game on big screens and atmosphere was brilliant plus they now have sky. ....and don't forget the pies!!
