i popped in here a month ago with 2 mates for a swift half before catching a train and i definatly wont make that mistake again. after playing british bulldog to get to the bar with some chav locals who looked as if they hadnt left the building for some years we were subsequently left to rot at the bar for an eternity. when some huge northern women who looked and talked like something straight out of viz did semi acknowledge our existence it took another ten minutes for the foulest tasting excuse for a pint of beer i have ever tasted to arrive. to call it monkey piss would insult our simian friends.when i asked a rather camp barman where the toilets where he looked at me as if id just thrown him off of the x=factor.the said toilets were filthy and swimming in urine and seemed to be a meeting place of some sort with the cubicles full to bursting. as an advert for sutton this pub falls woefully short and me and my companions shall not be returning! oldschoolsutton - 11 Aug 2008 08:10
Thanks to the lady who was perusing the food menu by opening it fully out and propping it against the beer pumps obscuring 5 of the 6 clips. Actually they only represented 3 beers as they had 2 Broadside, 2 Bombardier, 2 OSH, and the same replicated on 3 more pumps at other end of bar, hmm, so 9 handpumps, 3 mainstream beers! A board to left of bar displays old clips indicating that Adnams & Fullers are the principle suppliers here. A modern, open plan pub immediately next to Sutton stn, layout offers a variety of booth seating and tall tables. Pleasant service, but beer served in warm glass straight from washer (it wasn’t busy, so they couldn’t have run out), dodgy ‘funk’ soundtrack. More cons than pros for this correspondent. trainman - 28 Apr 2008 15:11
One of the best pubs in Sutton. Good staff, good beer and a good atmosphere. Cab rank is just outside when you've had your fill. pagsey - 13 Mar 2008 09:30
I heartely agree with the blonde barmaid, the Manchester united supporter is a gobby sod but aren't Chelsea fans there for other football fans to annoy. I also agree that the Manc is a dashingly good looking fellow with personality that could charm the most ardent femenist out of her chastity belt and into bed in less time than it takes Drogba to dive over. And as if to prove my point I've just climaxed just by thinking about him. The other Blonde bar maid (and no I'm not polish, there are some English Barmaids working in Sutton you know, perhaps i should put on an outrageous foe polish accent just to keep everyone happy as that seems to be the trend these days. In fact sod it i resign. I'm off to work in Smollenskys) anonymous - 14 Aug 2007 14:11
