user reviews of the Blue Anchor, Bromley

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A strange sort of atmosphere when we walked in. Clearly not faces and quickly dismissed as no threat we melted into the background although it took a while to get served even though it wasn’t that busy. Has been recently refurbished and felt a little too clinical for an East London boozer for my liking but nothing wrong with that. (I usually expect wooden floorboards or dirty carpets not changed since the war).
The racing was on and the whole pub were packed round the box and there was a good atmosphere for a Saturday lunchtime. Will return as a good pit-stop before West Ham away.

Reasonable pub, sat alone on a street where there used to be 4! Not to good, not to bad, more one for the regulars

This pub is a typical Eastend local boozer. I popped in the other Sunday and was pleasantly surprised, especially with the treats that you don't get in many pubs nowadays on Sundays. The outside looks newly painted and the inside was clean and presentable. I understand it is under new management and he is clearly trying to make improvements. Sky television is available and the football was on. The toilet did leave a lot to be desired but the bar was clean and well looked after. If you are looking for a quiet pint in a small, local pub this is what you will get at the Blue Anchor.

This pub is located in Bow East London, on Bromley High St. This is a jolly old mans type of pub. Atmosphere is relaxed and full of decent locals. Nice place for a quiet peaceful drink.
