Nice pub and atmosphere etc. No local ales though!! There's a micro brewery just down the lane but they never have their beers on the bar. Shame:(

Sometimes call in of a Friday evening on way home for a pint. Beer is well kept though the locals can seem a bit intimidating and unfriendly and there is sometimes a sense of barely repressed anger from behind the bar. Maybe this is because I never order any food? ;)

Good food, great welcome. Must rate as one of the best in the area in any guide.

What a great pub! 15 of us rolled up there unannounced lunchtime on Wednesday after a pleasant walk in the area to a very friendly welcome. Our meals were superb and served up in very speedily. We will return! If only to meet again Smirnoff the african grey parrot who resides in and around his cage (with the door open of course) at the end of the bar. What a character!

Fantastic food totally mouthwatering, this is a beautiful traditional country pub, I higly recommend this pub to everyone i know and have never heard any bad comments about the food or service, a huge beer garden with apparatus and play zones for the children, what more could you ask for!!!
