The pub is still closed and boarded up, I am trying to find out whether it is going to re-open again.

The pub is currently boarded up (but I have been advised it is being refurbished).

Basic pub with welcoming landlady. OK pint of Black Sheep. Obviously do more ales on tap but two pump clips turned round on my visit. Food served all day and menu looked great. Had a roast beef and onion bagette which more than made up for the poor selection of ales on the day. Pub needs a little bit (not too much!) of a redec and replacement of some of the worn out furniture. Comment about locals being "menacing" quite ridiculous - kept themselves to themselves and discussed upcoming betting on football. Idea that regulars always have to greet casual visitors to their pub as long lost friends is absurd. Sometimes you need to make the effort!
Will return if ever in the area again.

I will admit that I am biased as this has been my local for the last 25 years. I have known it through both good and bad times, and believe me during the 1980’s there were some bad times. Now it is a traditional ‘local’ pub that caters for all types of customers. The beer selection is wide and is of good quality, with at least 2 real ales on tap. There is a large menu ranging from snacks to full meals, normally available throughout the day. The bar staff are friendly, and the owner or his wife are always on site. It is well worth a visit - us regulars, who comprise of local residents and contractors working at Heathrow, will always afford a welcome and a chat to any strangers who visit.

P.S. Unlike the other contributors I do not do this anonymously!
