i've had to suffer many a leaving do organised in here, slow service, overpriced, cramped upstairs. decor is 'trendy', over designed and trying too hard. the immediate area is a bit of a desert for pubs but i'd go to the goldsmiths if i had a choice. mralistair - 11 Oct 2006 23:49
It's a trendy bar - obviously some people like it as it was pretty full when I visited it - but not really to my taste. I'd recommend a short walk to the Lord Clyde instead. pubcollector - 29 Sep 2006 22:52
October 2004. Don't know what the old pub was like but the new winebar upstairs and loungebar downstairs are both really nice. Friendly staff, excellent DJ's on a Friday and sometimes a Saturday night - good mix of people and buzzy laidback atmsophere. Well worth trying out. Sam Stock - 13 Oct 2004 15:51
Used to be "The William Shakespeare", now completely refurbished and renamed to "The Southwark Rooms", a bar/restaurant. If you're looking for an old fashioned boozer, try the Rose and Crown a very short walk away (also listed on this site) or one of the other traditional Southwark establishments. loz - 6 Sep 2004 14:15
Nice friendly pub/bar near London Bridge tube, good food and a great function room Fiona Riddle - 3 Sep 2002 11:08
