This pub is becoming, perhaps, a bit too much like a restaurant but having eaten there in the evening and had the Sunday carvery the food is very good and the service excellent. However since the new owners took over the beer is now the best kept and served in the village IMHO. The Purity Mad Goose is just about the best I have had all year. For anyone seeking a pub with a pleasant atmosphere with great eats and spot beer, currently, this place should be a no-brainer.

Tries to be a pub/restaurant but feels more like an airport catering outlet. They did have a drinkbale pint of Purity mad goose on but the place was empty apart from myself and an old 'character' at the bar.

Popular village centre local with a basic bar with Sky Sports and local bands playing at weekends, and a comfortable lounge with traditional decor. Garden is small, paved and very well looked after (worth a visit alone to sit in on Summer afternoons). Recent additons to the dining area are unsympathetic to the rest of the building and are a bit incongruous. Sadly my recent visit was spoiled by a local woman loudly doing a "comedy" West Indian accent for what seemed like 10 minutes, followed by her telling all and sundry that she was unbelievably under investigation at work for being racist. Well if the cap fits. Beer was reasonably kept with two pub basics on hand pull. All in all a nice pub but I could have done without the Friday Evening BNP Rally.

The eating area has recently been expanded into the back of the lounge with new decor. Guest beers seem to be well kept and consistent. Nice pint of Bass and Marston's Pedigree.

A relatively small pub in thr centre of Barton under Needwood. The front room (nearest the road) very cosy but some of the other rooms a bit basic. Beer - a guest beer and Marstons - good but service a bit hit and miss.

Quite extensve menu and specials, the food whilst not exotic was fresh cooked and the service was good, a little pricey.

Beer garden at the rear was really nice and in good weather it would be well worth sitting there to eat.
