A relatively small pub in thr centre of Barton under Needwood. The front room (nearest the road) very cosy but some of the other rooms a bit basic. Beer - a guest beer and Marstons - good but service a bit hit and miss.

Quite extensve menu and specials, the food whilst not exotic was fresh cooked and the service was good, a little pricey.

Beer garden at the rear was really nice and in good weather it would be well worth sitting there to eat.

Went for lunch... food was good, the ale was very good (so my other half said). The outside courtyard was pretty. It also has a childrens play area. The pub inside was a little tired but had a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were friendly.

Would recommend!

This pub looks great from the outside and is pleasant enough on the inside, although everyone seems to squeeze into each other. The decor is a bit rough much like the beer. Still, the landlady is a pleasant charm, if somewhat colourblind, and the food appears to be well-enjoyed by those who I've seen troughing through it on a Friday night.

This is a very pleasant and friendly pub which serves very good food in a comfortable atmosphere. Sadly I cannot, in all honesty, recommend the beer. The Bass and Marstons are mediocre to say the least. Guest beer quality is patchy and they tend to be served too early for them to be at their best. However if you drop lucky they can be very good. You pays your money and takes your chances!

We visited this pub last week while staying nearby at Wychnor Park Timeshares. We had the best meal of the entire week, with quick service and great beer. I can heartily recommend it. All four of us chose different meals and they were all excellent.
