user reviews of the Farmers Inn, Clarencefield

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

We recently attended a wedding at comlongon which was out of this world, however 2 of our guest stayed at the farmers inn. the landlord was a nasty, ignorant and arrogaant man, he treats people like rubbish, the pub was very scruffy looking, however the rooms where clean and tidy. we spoke to phil at comlongon who stated he will not allow his staff to recommend this place, Please please take there advice if you have already booked cancel it, but be aware he will charge your card any way, report him as we have done.

I got married in clarencefield in July 2005 and stayed at this pub the night before my wedding. They have 3 rooms in a separate block at the back of the pub. I stayed with my mum & dad, my husband to be and son and also my sister and her family stayed. The rooms were clean, tidy and pleasant unlike the manager of the pub,he was nasty and down right rude. Due to a misunderstanding over a booking (we had booked for two nights but informed him that we would only be staying for one several weeks before we arrived), he blew his top, threw things across the pub and then stormed out. He came back and was very threatening, all of this in front of a 6 year old child and my parents. He said we have taken advantage of him, as he had been unable to book the rooms out, we told him we had informed him in plenty of time and we had even spoke to him on the telephone with regards to this. He then demanded more money. Eventually we sorted this out (to calm him down we did actually give him some more money). We refused to eat or drink in his pub and went to the nearby town. Needless to say, I will never be going back there and basically he ruined the eve of the happiest day of my life.
