| This bar is now named "Tonic" but is still owned and run by the same management and staff as it was when known as "Popl Nero" (or "Pope On A Rope" as many of the student clientele fondly refer to it). Normally I am not a fan of what some might describe as "trendy bars" but I will make an exception for Tonic. The beer is always well kept, there is an unrivalled selection of spirits and a huge menu, with a choice of 53 different burgers ! There's also a good selection of coffee / take away drinks. Popular with students and local business people this is a vibrant venue, particularly during the day. A good place to sit and read the papers over a quiet pint, or have a full blown session.
