| Friendly comfortable pub with an eclectic mix of clientele,best beer pub on the seafront,definately underrated,on our recent visit Courage Best ,Skinners Cornish Knocker and Theakstons Old Peculiar all in good shape,landlady clearly doing a fine job.Well worth a visit. | I wandered in as it had been recommended by a CAMRA friend and I had missed my bus. Friday night is obviously music night and you couldn't hear yourself think in there. However, as music goes they were very accomplished and the prospect of going anywhere else for an hour was slim. The pub? Oh yes - I liked it. Had a pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord and 1.5 pints of Youngs ESB. Excellent. Bar staff were friendly and efficient and I would rather be in there than outside on the seafront on a friday night.
