| Called in here before the game. Proper good pub. Excellent landlady. Friendly locals and excellent beer (I was drinking 'Bitter and Twisted' which was as good as anything I've had for many a long day). Unfortunately the footie result went against us but I'll be back here the next time we play Bury hoping for the same beer but a different result. JCsbrogues - 2 Sep 2011 20:06 |

| A great pub with a landlady who was willing to serve us all the food she had at quick notice on a Saturday before the football. We were travelling from the south and away supporters but the locals and the staff were pleasant enough and the chicken soup was to die for at £1.50 a go. Real ale a plenty and good quality at a good price - I enjoyed the experience and wanted to return after the game but the troops decided city centre Manchester instead. Don't ask a cabbie to take you there as there are 2 R&C's and they want to take you to the other as it's a bigger fare - this one's old Manchester rd and only 10 mins walk from the train station/tramlink place. | Used to be a brilliant pub, but doesn't deign to open half the time these days. TheGuiltyOne - 26 Jan 2011 12:37 |
| Haven't had the beer quality problems other have mentioned. However, when matches are rearranged, they don't seem to find out and therefore don't prepare for them. However, they made a great effort on Saturday when they did find out. oftenscore6 - 14 Mar 2010 19:50 |
