I can't think of a better pub in terms of real ale choice and quality, continental beers and whiskeys. I'm hard pushed to think of a more pleasant, mixed clientele. I know it can't be beaten for value. Indeed, I'll be there in about an hour. deadotter - 19 Nov 2008 18:52
I used to live in Heeley and this was one of my favourites. Brilliant selection of ales, at excellent prices, and also a great selection of continental largers. The staff have been brillant on every visit, and always warm and welcoming. It is a great pub for all ages, and a must visit. thiett - 27 Oct 2008 13:18
Great Pub, great views, excellent ales. Has an imaginative and constantly changing selection of ales and lagers. Often non-mainstream stuff - always well transported and kept. A little more on the edge than some 'Ale-Houses' and I have heard of troublesome customers. There are notices in the pub warning customers that they will not be welcome back if causing trouble - but I have only ever witnessed happy, friendly, helpful and chatty clientèle. And I've been a lot recently!! Tough to beat in Sheffield. Thirsty_Jonny - 9 Sep 2008 20:48
Excellent choice of beer, helpful beer staff and a terrace with good views. Some friends have had some trouble with other customers, but the pub itself is very good. SheffieldMickey - 3 Mar 2008 00:10
| What a gem! First discovered this pub around 6 months ago. Nice location, just on the edge of the city centre. Mixed range of customers. No mainstream beers/lagers. Sizeable indoor area. Great outdoor terrace. Friendly staff. There's usually 3 or 4 real ales on. In the time I've known this pub, my drink has been Erdinger Dunkel - a gem of a dark German beer and under £3 a pint! I went in a couple of nights ago, and they've only got Sleeman Honey Brown Lager on draught! It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. An absolute amazing beer in a very good pub. Recommended.
