Whilst in the midst of a pub crawl we stumbled across this place and thought we'd pop in to break up the walk between pubs. The pub itself was clean, the bar staff very friendly and considering it's in the heart of the capital the prices weren't that bad at all.

As a group we were a little rowdy to which across came the landlord, who turned out to be an extremely nice gentleman who was willing to join in the banter and had no qualms about the noise level as it was all harmless fun. He informed us that he had just taken over at The Cartoonist a few weeks prior to our chance encounter and had made a few changes to the old place.

Those who have been before and had bad things to say, I would suggest you take it into your heart and give The Cartoonist one more chance before writting the old girl off. We had a thoroughly good albeit brief stint as customers and would definately return to the place!!

I sometimes go here for a lunchtime beer to get away from the hussle and bussle of work, nice friendly bar staff always willing to chat and have a laugh with you.

I tryed a pint of Kronenburg while in there, the Kronenburg was nice and chilled to perfection and has to be one of the best pints I've had in London so I had another.

Nice quiet pub ideal for lunch and a nice pint on your own or with someone else, it has a nice beer garden surround.

A grubby little pub with shockingly expensive soft drinks. I was charged £2.10 for a half pint of lemonade, and this was from a dispenser, not even an individual bottle!! I am still stunned, and will certainly not be returning in a hurry.

Fair dos, there are better pubs in this part of town. The beer is a little pricey, and I expect this is in order to survive on the sliver of Mon-Fri business this place shaves off its more cosmopolitan neighbours. However, the staff are generally friendly and I've had some nice pints of various incarnations of Adnams in here. They also show football and the pub is rarely populated densely enough to obscure your view...

A funny place, all in all , but not all bad.

The guys that run this place are really nice and they love what they do. It has picked up a bit recently with the smoking ban. I think they could do a lot more with the space, it is in a great location for city workers!
