Good selection of beer, but it is ian absolute rip off. I went in there recently and couldn't hear myself think in the back garden because some muppet was blaring out incredably loud noise from a sound system. And this was at 3 in the afternoon on a sunday! I doubt I'll be going back soon - try Sandbar! bensonby - 29 Aug 2007 13:32

Used to be a regular (daily basis) for a couple of years but wouldn't be seen dead in the place now. The owners seem content to let the place rot and, given a guaranteed trade of uncritical students, use the place as a cash cow to finance other ventures. The food's gone way downhill, the bitter's usually undrinkable as most drink lager or bloody coffee and you're looking at 3 notes for a pint of the lager. A plus is the staff are usually excellent. anonymous - 3 Dec 2006 09:50
Slightly pretentious gastro-pub type establishment opposite Manchester uni. The beer's nice, but is pricey and if you're on a budget you'd probably want to visit sparingly. It is worth a visit, however, as the beer is varied and well maintained. man_of_kent - 26 Sep 2006 17:10
Good choice of beer (continental and cask) however cask ale is not always kept well. Nice beer garden and upstairs areas but seating downstairs is cramped to say the least. Food can be inconsistent and beer is overpriced too. The sandbar is a better alternative in my opinion. sstephan - 25 May 2006 13:29
