Very pleasant pub. Friendly landlord and very much a locals venue. The food portions are little short of gigantic. We were four and there was enough for eight! Good quality though and reasonably priced. Very busy on Sat evening so book if you want to eat. The beer range was commendable - a local micro and also Butcombe Gold, in excellent condition. One interesting feature was the nursing mother breast feeding her infant in the bar at 10pm on a Saturday night. Oh well, it is a locals pub after all!

Excellent food, great portions, very friendly atmosphere. Can't comment on the beer as was driving during my visit.

An excellent local pub. Excellent food (huge portions all round), fabulous real ales & a real friendly cheery can-do attitude makes this pub a winner

This is an efficient and well-run pub. Good range of beers. We haven't tried the restaurant yet because the bar meals are very substantial. The garden is great in good weather -- with Aunt Sally on offer (you have to live locally to understand this recondite game). Children-friendly inside and outside, which isn't always the case in this part of the world. Very busy at weekends and even more so in summer because it is near the Oxford Canal, which has heavy tourist traffic.
