Went in last week not realising they has a refurb, as it looks pretty much the same to me. Could do with a more efficient organisation of the furniture actually.

Two ales on: Wadworth 6x (you used to see that everywhere) and Rev James. Both perfectly drinkable. Food now of the British grub variety and music at a tolerable level. I like it here and dont know why I dont come here more often.

For those of you who have read recent reviews about the place looking shabby, I've been walking past this place for the last 8 weeks, about 3 weeks ago I wanted to visit the place only to find out it was closed for a refurb. 2 weeks ago they announced they were reopening and would have food on the menu. thought i might check out the beers in the not too distant future..

just thought other people might want to give this place a second chance as it does look pretty cool :/

Got character that is for sure, but not a great pub, the choice of drink poor and service while cheerful doesnt really make up for our dirty the place is.

In last night. It was dead but there was empty Tennent's Super cans in the urinal and what looked like empty wraps on the floor. For such a famous music pub the tunes playing were awful, unless "Near Wild Heaven" by REM and "Shiny Happy People" are your cup of tea. Nice enough barman but the name of the pub doesn't do justice to how dirty it actually is.

I wouldn’t normally venture into a Fithy McNasty’s pub as I’ve found they usually are, but called in here as I was passing, purely in the interests of research and under the influence of a few already. I found an interesting pub, very music orientated and advertising live music 4 days a week. Not that busy so difficult to judge the clientele , although the couple in the corner playing Jenga was somewhat mesmeric. Becks, Red Stripe, Guinness, Stella and Strongbow were on offer along with a single hand pump that produced a pretty poor pint of Black Sheep. An interesting pub that no doubt has a large fan base and serves it well.
