Have to say this, After reading Large_portions comments under the Eldon banner, Now seeing this last comment, Also seeing and hearing his spiel on Friday night last, Is it surprising that the locals have gone elsewhere if he is now drinking in the Tavern? Graham; watch your back, this character is better known as 'The poison dwarf' or 'Our Peg'. Michaelhunt - 19 Feb 2008 21:50

The Plungington Tavern is one of the best traditional pubs in Preston. The staff are friendly, the beer is well kept, and the premises are always spotless. Tip: Bring your camera, the exterior of the corner/end-terrace pub has some gorgeous art-nouveau detailed brickwork. eat_at_joes - 26 Jul 2007 22:38
What a pub. Had some good beer, good music, (not too loud) not too busy for a Friday night, plenty of in & out trade, everyone seemed friendly and willing to talk. Bar staff appear to be well known and respected, Joining in the jovial banter with customers, Bit heavy on the walls with awards but its better than wallpaper reading, Plenty on offer to go with your beer and crisps, 'Ie' Papers, Free music, Big screens and gaming room out the way at the back. what more could one wish for when enjoying a few draughts of an evening. Getting geared up for no smoking as well, Things just get better. sheerline1 - 15 Apr 2007 19:48
Gotta say I don't like the place. I've been a few times but tend to find it very unwelcoming. Bog-standard beers in a bog-standard pub really. flanaldo - 28 Dec 2006 13:59
