I'm amazed it's still here. Half of it isn't! The roof caved in last year. So with Manchester's famous climate, half the pub is now mush. Unfortunately it hasn't got long, as the dreary march of 'contemporary living space' is heading up Oldham Road. But it wouldn't have had long anyway. It's an experience, put it that way.

So that's what happened to Les out of Men Behaving Badly. Not been in a pub where there were more people on the TV (Inspector Frost & Co) than in the pub itself. What the pub lacked in any hand pulled beer, draught only and any round of drinks for 5 it more than made up with, with the landlord (former Recoat perhaps) and the legendary toilets.
It's a shame that more and more of these "real" pubs with characters and charismatic landlords are being swallowed up by the larger faceless brewery chains.
As per previous comments, catch it before it's gone

This pub shouldn't really be standing. It has none of the facilities, drinks range or beautiful people of a contemporary pub, but it does have a big plus in its favour. Character.
The gregarious landlord, Dave, will greet you into his bar cum kitchen with gusto and entreat you to try one of his fine handpulled ales or to take a selection from his heartily stocked optics. There is a top notch pool table and the regulars are all very friendly.
In summary, a first class boozer with all it's original fixtures and fittings and one of the most interesting bathrooms in Manchester.
Catch it now before they pull it down
