Pleasant pub with friendly service. Served a nice pint of St. Austell Tribute. Some of my companions, feeling it was almost time for lunch, sampled the bar snacks (there is a restaurant area serving full meals), including some excellent slabs of bread pudding!

This cosy and friendly pub has now become my regular and with good reason. The landlord cannot do enough to please his customers, from toasting pikelets (crumpets) for them on the log fire, to stocking excellent cask ales and supplying free sandwiches and scratchings to regulars. The recently opened restaurant serves very good value food as well. Despite being on a main road, this pub has all the atmosphere of an old fashioned county pub, with the added bonus of a delightful separate dining room complete with log fire and bar. The staff are well-trained and friendly. Sunday lunch is a must.

This place has changed a bit over the years - i remember winning a quiz here once.

Its quite a big, as it styles itself, country pub and dining place. The interior has the sofa experience, as well as wooden tables and chairs area, bar area and beer garden, of of which of sit together as uncomfotably as England, Scotland and Wales. It was clean and tidy and the chap serving was friendly.

The beer was the usual stuff, with Banks's MILD smooth, as well as three real ales, Abbots and Spekky, two regular real ales, as well as Flowers IPA, which was really nice.

Kind of place you take the wife, or girlfriend and family etc. Not bad by any means.

Charming little pub on busy road, extended to cater for its regular diners with its simplistic but good pub grub attitude, value and a cosy fire place to enhance the experience!.Standard beer selections, and prices.
