Had a beer and burger deal for £3.99, burger was cold, sent it back, problem dealt with straight away, whole meal replaced. Pint of Ruddles Best fine. Golden rule with any Wetherspoons pub - if you're not satisfied, complain immediately and they'll do what they can to resolve complaint as they're concerned with maintaining a good reputation !

To be fair ale is rarely on best condition, but always drinkable. Weths do give value for money but this old Gas HQ is too big to feel like a pub, more like a german beer hall and I am getting to old to keep walking up the flight of stairs for a leek!

Standard Wetherspoons - good cheap beer being the only reason to visit.

My first ever visit to this pub with a friend and some of his work colleagues for a jar or 2 took place early 1 Friday evening a few weeks ago. Surprisingly for a city-centre Wetherspoons at that time of the day and week, the atmosphere seemed remarkably civilised with no evidence of excessive drunkeness among the clientele, although things might well have taken a turn for the worse later on after we had left. However, the bar service was absolutely diabolical – we sent out a search party for 1 of our group who had to wait nearly half an hour to get served!
