Quiet pub, possibly suffering location-wise from proximity of several other top-notch beer pubs. However, five real ales are on offer, served direct from the tap room at the back. Had a very pleasant pint of the local Winter's Golden.

Visited on a Saturday evening and it was very quiet. There were five ales available but I suspect a Beer Festival at the Rose around the corner had probably hit trade.

This was the penultimate pub on quite a post football pub crawl. We needed quite a few drinks after the game yesterday. Just across the road from the excellent Kings Arms where we had just come from. This was a cheeky extra pub as a friendly customer in one of earlier pubs had recommended it. We only had halves in this pub as we had already had quite a number at this stage. I believe there were 4 hand pumps with another ale out the back as two pump clips were on one handle. I opted for a half of JHB but I was not that impressed. Usually this is a lovely hoppy easy drinking ale however this is not what I remember about this offering. I know my mate seemed to be happy with his ale so perhaps this is not a regular occurrence. I will have to come again at some point and review again.

The "miserable git" who ran the Bluelight in the 1990's was my brother who has died recently and unexpectedly. He ran the pub with integrity and honesty, with a great respect for the traditions of drinking in this country. He is missed by many even those he crossed. There has never been a better pint of Wherry than from his cellar. There will be a memorial drink at 2pm on Sept 22 2007 at the pub opposite - the King's Arms (?). All who knew and loved or had rather less affectionate feelings for him are welcome.
