A bit too trendy for me being a fan of traditional boozers but it was full on a Saturday afternoon and they have musical entertainment in the evenings
Couldn’t stay long enough to hear the singer but this pub is a goodun

Pub has re-opened with a new female landlord, and is due for a refurb in the next month or so.

This pub has sadly closed down. It was a great pub that served the local community well. Sad the way the manager and staff were given very short notice of the pub's demise. I think they were treated very unfairly by the pub's owners. Thanks to Mike, Coster and Dominic. Also thanks to Hugh, Brad and Manjit. I wish you well in the future.

Dimly-lit pub straight out of the book of classic 70's boozers - no real ale, noisy, lageer-drinking customers and the stinkiest gents toilet since cleaning fluid was invented!

This used to be my lunchtime local, circa 1992, whilst I was attending the local college.

It is primarily a sports pub with 3 pool tables in their own little areas at the rear of the building and a few large plasma screens dotted about showing Sky Sports day and night. The Manager seems very friendly and was quick to finish playing the fruit machine to come and serve me and the prices are reasonable. Various standard lagers are available alongside Pride and John Smiths Smooth.

There is some outside seating in a small paved area and there is also a wooden smoking shelter to protect from the elements.

If I was in the area Id probably walk up to the Red Lion, but this place is an OK alternative.
