Went back to this pub after a few years and I have to say I am outraged. As somebody who used to frequent this joint I now find the staff rude and defiant. The "bar maid" gave me the wrong change (A very simple amount) albeit a silly mistake, 1 that I wasn't that fussed about until she got rude with me and I had to wait over 15 minutes at the bar to get this sorted (She wasn't even serving during the full length of this time period) Que more rudeness from her and no apology from the manager however I did get my change back - eventually. I'm not going here again.

if you are thinking of running an event i would not consider this venue as i have found that out the hard way!!!. the landlord i fount to be extremely rude i have never had to deal with someone so rude in my life i run a charity event for oxfam and fount out that the pub had sold tickets i gave them to sale for the event but had kept the money as well as not keeping to a deal of 10% of bar takings going to the curse as well as just not keeping to any agreements they had made. this is bad enough but when its charity what as been ripped off its just discussing

One of Derby's best town pubs. Frequented by an eclectic clientelle, mostly intelligent friendly young and young-at-heart people, it doesn't appeal to those who go out looking for trouble, despite some amazing drinks offers, so you always feel safe. Excellent DJs and other entertainment, mainly indie/rock orientated. Extremely friendly staff and management. Not really for real ale connoisseurs or those seeking quiet conversation, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's my favourite Friday night out - and by the way I'm in my mid-50s.

Student pub. Expect to see an assortment of youngsters desperately trying to be so wacky and utterly zany. Worse at the start of the new education year in Sept/ Oct when the 'freshers' go here.

My dad used to love the Bless, and he was certainly a man who knew his pubs. Unfortunately it's gone downhill and is now only a shadow of its former self. There's plenty of other nicer places in the area, the Dolphin and the Flower Pot for example.
