I like the Spencer as a pub. Nice atmosphere and it's a good place to meet people. Periodically however the food dips in quality and prices spike. I went there recently with my family and a friends (a quick drink on way back from the park).
3 pints, a large G&T, 4 kids apple juice and 5 bags of crisps. I was staggered to be asked for £37.20. I know this is London, but £2.50 for a kids juice from a carton.
I'll be avoiding the Spencer for now. Disappointing pricing in austere times.

Its not bad at all....weekends can be hectic....full of screaming children, show offs and w"@&*s wearing shorts and flip flops in almost freezing temperatures!
Clean, polite staff and good beer!

Attempted (but not quite succeeded) gastro pub. Populated by mothers and their preteen infants the afternoon we attended. Black Sheep was tasty though

Came here mid afternoon, have a good selection of ales including Pride, black Sheep and Doombar. Had a pint of Pride at 3.40 which is steep. Offering Food which looked equall expensive, Two girls bought two bottles of Westons cider for £9.00 so again not cheap. I had a pint of Black Sheep and nuts for £5.25.

I have been in this pub once a week for the past three months. Very nice atmosphere and friendly. The food is good though a little expensive. The bar staff are polite and the new manager is attentative.

They also keep a visitors book there for "Marc Bolans Rock Shrine", which is on Queens Ride, so people can write in their messages. which I think is a brilliant idea.
