This pub now serves real ale, and has done for several weeks.
They only have one hand pump, but it changes beer weekly.
They have a Wii in the corner, fruit machines, poker machine, two Sky TVs, a dart board, and a Juke Box.
They have a good social atmosphere, with a football team, and low stakes Champions League Poker on Thursday nights.

I like the place, and even though I live over a mile away, and there are other pubs nearer, The Hand and Marigold has become by local.

Decent Bermondsey hostelry. No real ale.

Friendly enough.

The Marigold has only recently been renovated and it has made a big difference to its appearence. They have pulled up the carpet and removed the pool table, polished the floor boards and changed the bar. In all it now feels more open an brighter without loosing all its traditional pub charm. It has not become a "trendy" pub by now means. The staff and clientele are plesant but it is still only draught beer on tap, no real ale. If you have visited this pub before then I recommend having a look again. With Sky sports, board games, a wii in the corner and poker thursday nights it really is a good place to go for a quiet beer.

Small street-corner pub straddling the border of 'renovated, within a spit of London Bridge station, populated by young professionals' Bermondsey and old-style Bermondsey; this one appeals more to the latter and has all that you'd expect from such a pub - a regular clientele, affordable pints (keg only, no handpull as of 2 weeks ago) and Sky sports. For the former, the nearby Garrison, Woolpack or Hartley may be a better bet.
It's also clean and, on my last visit, the regulars were friendly enough (I think it may have icked up some trade from the demolished-for-flats White Bear). A solid 6/10, would gladly add another 2 for better beer choice.

This seems to be a comfortable enough pub for residents of the local council estates. Otherwise you get strange looks translating to "what are you doing in my lounge?".
