Small street-corner pub straddling the border of 'renovated, within a spit of London Bridge station, populated by young professionals' Bermondsey and old-style Bermondsey; this one appeals more to the latter and has all that you'd expect from such a pub - a regular clientele, affordable pints (keg only, no handpull as of 2 weeks ago) and Sky sports. For the former, the nearby Garrison, Woolpack or Hartley may be a better bet. It's also clean and, on my last visit, the regulars were friendly enough (I think it may have icked up some trade from the demolished-for-flats White Bear). A solid 6/10, would gladly add another 2 for better beer choice. pablos13 - 31 Dec 2007 14:06
This seems to be a comfortable enough pub for residents of the local council estates. Otherwise you get strange looks translating to "what are you doing in my lounge?". Chav_man - 19 Apr 2006 09:43
hi there to anybody out there!!I am looking for my dad I'm not sure if he managed this pub or not about 9 years ago . His name is John Alexanda Mclean and he is an irishman. The last i see him he was managing a pub in bermondsey and i cant remember what it was called. I can remember twin sisters drinking in the pub that were good friends with him. Please if anybody has any information please email me Thankyou .Marie Gibson (nee McLean ) mariejane - 8 Aug 2005 23:25
Very bad service, the staff were very extremely indifferent towards us. Beer was OK, but was not a nice atmosphere. I asked one Irish lady for some change for the pool table and she looked at me as if I was something she had scraped off her shoe. A couple the customers seemed to be on something. I will not be vising there again. beany74 - 18 Feb 2005 00:22
