| Lots of choice and constantly changing well kept beers and ciders. They will give you a sample if the beer is new to you. Pleasant and helpful staff in a traditional town pub. Good friendly atmosphere. catador - 24 Apr 2012 19:57 |
| The "Robin Hood" has returned and is better than ever. Eight (yes Eight) hand pumps and a few Belgos. Wonderful atmosphere, with Darts, Dommies and two quiz nights. The beers are great and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. StrawhillJ - 18 Nov 2010 11:25 |
| Since it's a new landlord it could probably do with a new start on the ratings. Been again today and the pub has a very friendly feel with families welcome as well as the usual regulars, and a number of new faces. The beers, which are in great numbers are constantly changing, though thankfully there are plenty of Filey brews left. had a pint of Old Empress today, an old favourite which is as good, if not better than before! | The pub is now redecorated, though essentially unchanged, so it's the same Robin Hood we always knew. The old photos are back, and there is a massive range of beer. There's all the usual stuff like Becks and Hoegaarden, if that's what floats your boat, but there is also a wonderful selection of real ales, many from the Filey brewery, I believe made by the new Landlord. Rumopur has it that he wants to set up a micro-brewery round the back. If he makes more beers like the few I've tried then bring it on as soon as possible. Boarose - 1 Nov 2010 21:24 |
| Sadly now closed. One of the few remaing real ale and in fact real pubs left in "Ponty", although a poster on the window promises a re-opening soon. Let's hope that it's character will be preserved, and it's dreadful loos not, when it does. StrawhillJ - 24 Feb 2010 22:26 |
