My first visit to Evesham and walking through the town so many of the pubs appeared a bit characterless from the outside, albeit well patronised. Popped into the Railway Hotel and immediately impressed /at home with its warm ,dark lighting, wooden bar, tiled floor, brick fireplace and a nice selection of real ales. Plenty of character. Live music on later that night but ,would have to pay to listen to it:-no problem with that but it looked like the pub would be out of bounds once the music started unless you had a ticket (music not in a separate bar). But definitely somewhere I would return if in town again (and probably enjoy the gig as well ).

In here late Saturday evening and this place has a nice big open area.
Half a dozen or so punters also in.
Some piped music is playing in the background. Has a pool table.
4 hand pulls with one for cider but two out of use and one for ale @ £2.50

This pub has recently been taken over so now has no live music or big screen TV and the new paint job has brightened it considerably. The owners are trying to turn it back into a traditional pub with good cask ales and home cooked food - both of which are very good quality. Welcoming chatty staff, dogs allowed and children tolerated judging by the signs!

Visited here last night.... live music with a indie band. There was no real ale at all, just the basic stuff. It had a decent atmosphere and a kind of local feel to it. The landlord was quite off putting thats about all really, its nothing special... however, given some TLC this could be a decent pub.... nice pool table though...

Landlord is not the best but the darts board saves the place. On a music-free night (it has to be said the music has improved over the past few years: from absolute trash to poor), push the tables to the side, ask for some darts and do what pubs were designed for..
