The Oak was taken over a while ago by a local pub group, with about a dozen outlets - manly in East Surrey.

Standards, including those for food, are high. And the beer quality has never been better.

Lovely village green pub - with friendly staff and ample parking.

I will comment on the beer and the pub. The beer was ok but not exciting, standard fare of London Pride, Doombar and Young's Bitter. I had the Doombar which went down very well. A tad expensive at 3.40 but this is Surrey. The pub itself I liked a lot, simply furnished but comfortable, warm and welcoming. I like the way one end is for families/diners, whilst the other end of the 'L' shape room is for darts players and locals, with the bar in the middle. Plus it is in a lovely setting, I must go back on a nice summer's evening.......

no, i agree with roverbetokens. A pub has to be a place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere and service. So this website is about beers and the bar but has to be about the setting too as is redbarrels comment. Both Good comments! But at the end of the day, the ales and prices have already been published on this website so its good to see in depth comments and experiences.
