Went in today with the Mrs and the outlaws for her mums birthday. Great spread, and a good range of ales on. Had a couple of pints of the mosaic pale ale after being invited to taste a couple before buying. Friendly staff, will def go back.

Came here for lunch with a large group, about 25 of us, three weeks ago on a cold Wednesday. All the staff are very young, but there was one who was excellent, loud voice, but made sure everyone got what they wanted and what they'd ordered. We'd only given notice of our arrival about 2 hours beforehand, so they did well to please us. Beer - several bitters, Peroni. It's best in the summer, like most country pubs. I thought it an improvement on when I was last there.

Was subject to a ram raid in March 2009 ('A Mitsubishi Shogun
ripped a massive hole in the front of the building after smashing through a wall into the lounge bar, leaving a scene of destruction.') which answers an earlier question.
Haven't been back since it re-opened as the bar billiards table had been moved out and is now in the Eight Bells. I do remember it however as a good venue, with good food and and extensive choice of wines on offer.

I have eaten here quite a few times over the last year and the food has always been great. They always have a good selection of ales, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. It can be a bit smoky occasionally if its windy outside, but thats the price you pay for having 2 lovely real open fires! They can't control the weather!

My family and I first visited this pub over the christmas period as we have just moved into the area, and I can honestly say it is one of the best pubs I've been to in a long time. The service is fantastic, the staff polite and the food excellent. So glad to have a nice local I know I'm always welcome in.
