Regularly receives bad press in the Leicester Mercury due to the number of fights and punters being glassed in the face there. Awful, terrible place. You deserve better. AVOID!

On my visit to Leicester I was on the look out for The Corn Exchange. It wasn't difficult, the building is huge and slap bang in the middle of the town centre. As I entered walking under an randomly placed bridge the first thing that hit me was how dark it is in there. Especially upstairs where I sat.

The bar upstairs is small but stretches outward giving the bar staff plenty of work space for quite a small serving area. Theres plenty of seating upstairs and in my opinion it was negeleted by the customers. Down stairs the bar is like an island and is very big. Theres lots of seating including sofas, its a very comfatable place.

As I said it is very dark because they've painted all the walls a very dark purple and the only real lighting comes from neon lights, but i can say this gives a great atmosphere at night. I noticed there wasn't a DJ booth but music was playing at midday which is unusual for Lloyds Bars as wetherspoons seem to be trying to make all the Lloyds bars more like wetherspoon pubs, this was great because it wasn't loud and it gave a nice back ground noise.

I really liked this place, it had a great layout and buzzing atmosphere. As its a Lloyds it had the great selection of drinks and good cheap food I've come to expect from the Wetherspoons brand. Put this on your list of pubs/bars to visit for your next trip to Leicester you won't be disapointed.

Vile. Full of aggressive chavs, neon lights, bad and loud music. When I was last obliged to go (a very cold december night) the air con was on full blast and we sat there shivering. There are other late licences in Leicester now, so you have no excuse to go there. Avoid.
