| I haven't been in the Ploughman for years - and how it's changed. This used to be a pretty desperate place. Not anymore. Friendly landlord, attentive barstaff and great great beer. Deservedly a recent local CAMRA pub of the year. Don't let the exterior put you off ( it's a modern building adjoining a shopping centre with views of a car park ), this is a great pub. However, there's a dark shadow on the horizon, Tesco's have extension plans for their next-door supermarket and the Ploughman is in the way. They own the site and intend to demolish the pub. So, visit the Ploughman and sign their petition or visit www.savetheploughman.com and don't Tesco's plans for world domination destroy this wonderful community pub. nmckenn - 1 Dec 2011 22:08 |
| this pub has been voted the CAMRA local pub of the year and I was curious. I have to say this was a friendly, community pub that served good cask ale at a reasonable price and the staff and regulars were pleasant and polite. good luck to you all.... RedRoosterRocker - 25 Apr 2011 01:41 |
