Recall this as inviting from the outside and vibrant inside, full of young people. There's worse places around! tommo5 - 2 Aug 2011 17:33
If you're 'not local', forget about this place. Stood waiting tonight for what seemed like a lifetime to get served; meanwhile, regulars were coming in and getting dealt with straight away by the two sour-faced lads behind the bar :-( Eventually lost the will to live and took my custom elsewhere. [Have to say though that I do normally get attentive service from the two girls who work here at other times.] The so-called manager of this place needs to have a word! bigfishlittlepond - 28 Oct 2010 00:09
This used to be a really lively pub, You couldn't move in the place when the young lad used to run it. Now nobody seems to care and it shows. maverickswest - 2 Dec 2008 13:48
Still not a great place to be. No decent ales on offer, and the fact they are doing a free raffle on Saturday nights with a prize of £100 of vouchers to spend in the pub sounds like desperation to me. If they can't get the punters in on a Saturday night I dread to think how they are doing during the week.. napoleon_dynamite - 8 Oct 2008 10:36
Didn't really do it for me. Been in a couple of times on a Sunday afternoon and has been quite pleasant. Spitfire was well kept but pub lacks atmosphere except when it's filled up with beered-up youngsters in which case you're better off moving on. Bacchus - 3 Sep 2008 13:39
